|Faint, slow moving light that dissappeared on or about 01/28/11 in the skies over Gaineville, GA
At approximately 10:30 PM on or about January 28, 2011, I observed what appeared to be a faint star in the Northeastern sky, at 50 degrees inclination. This point of light moved southerly in a straight line for approximately 5-10 degrees for a duration of 10 seconds. Its light magnitude neither increased nor decreased as it traversed and I would estimate its magnitude to be about 3. There were no aircraft strobes present on the object and it was much fainter than any aircraft I have observed before.
I am an independent contractor with an interest in astronomy and I canít offer an explanation for what I saw. It moved much too slowly to be a meteor and simply disappeared on a moonless cloudless night.
