Glowing fireball that looked large enough to be a planet in night sky Just after midnight I was looking out of my bedroom window and saw a very large glowing fireball which looked like the moon or another planet. It was a reddy orange colour. I woke my husband and opened the fly screen and it hadn’t moved. Then whilst we both watched it shrank instantly to half the size and then very slowly started to lower over the valley. It was completely silent. Before it got to about 800 feet it suddenly vanished.
