Location: Fluvanna county (off rt 15), VA, USA

Shape: Oval

Driving from Richmond to Lake Monticello, 1/4 mile from intersection of rt 15 and rt 616 on riight, I onserved the following: bright multicolor array of cilindrical shaped vertically positioned lights flashing and moving left to right, horizontally around somewhat oval shaped large object hovering above trees about 100 yards from road. Top and bottom of object were convex. Top and bottom curved portions comprisedaybe 40- 50 % total size, the remaining 50% was lighted rectangular multicolored center portion of it. Top and bottom parts were very brightly glowing white light. Object total size appeared 50 feet wide 30 feet high. Appeared to jump several feet in different directions while remaining in same place and orientation. Before suddenly disappearing. Wondered if someone might be attempting a hoax, I Kept looking in area where object seen as turned right onto 616 and noticed a house with a few Christmas lights but it was well below trees and nothing! going on there. Actual siting only lasted 2 or 3 seconds.
