Strange lights following me on the ground.

I was out late at night checking on calving cows. It was in February, but I'm not sure now of what year.. approximately 2007. While walking back to the house, I got a very creepy feeling, and it felt like the hair on the back of my neck was standing up. Just then a formation of lights came up from behind me, shining on the snow beside me. They were about five feet to my left, and were brilliant white, with very sharp edges, much like how the light from a laser pointer looks.

The lights were only visible on the snow. There were no "beams" with them. There were about six of them, and they were each about a foot in diameter. They weren't in a round formation, as you would expect from a searchlight. They were more the shape of a cluster of grapes, with the leading edge of the formation being wider, and tapering toward the back. There was absolutely no sound.

I slowed down, and the lights slowed down. I walked a little faster, and they kept pace. They did not shine directly on me. After about fifty feet, they suddenly sped up and were gone. The strangest thing was that I just went into the house and went to bed. I didn't say a word to my wife, until about four days later, when we were driving down the highway at night, and seeing oncoming headlights jogged my memory. I'm not aware of any missing time.

I do not know why I didn't look up! Has anyone else seen anything like this?
