Glowing oval fireball, no sound , so bright, close in distance than in moments as far as a distant star

Last night my family was outside enjoying the 4th and all the fireworks in the night sky when we saw a bright light, that at first looked like a left over ember from a firework. This light did not disperse and instead traveled from North to South as we faced West. This was about 10:30 pm and it continued south until it disappeared. After putting the kids to bed, we went back outside to continue to watch the surrounding firework displays. This time we were on our patio facing East. About 11:00 pm all of a sudden a bright glowing object came up over our home from that easterly direction (from where the moon was rising). It was if something was on fire, it glowed with an orange to red color tone, but so bright. From where I was sitting it was as large as my thumb. Its shape was like a standing oval. It was quite large and there was no sound at all. As we were studying this, another came up right behind it. It seemed to following the same travel patte! rn. Then these two objects switched direction from coming towards us (west) to then moving south. During this specific time of watching the two bright shining objects travel now to the south, we did have an aircraft fly overhead south to north and it was loud. This reinforced to me that whatever these were had no sound. These objects kept traveling south until they were the size of a distant star then disappeared as the first did earlier. As I was getting ready to go back inside in the same spot (south eastern) where the two objects had disappeared a short time before, a glow again appeared traveling now north, back towards me. It got bright and large then switched directions and disappeared again going south.

As a side note, we have had air traffic above our home for the last few years, either commercial airlines which travel at a much higher altitude moving from south to north, or air traffic coming from Joint Fort Lewis McCord, which usually travels from an easterly to westerly direction. The aircrafts that usually come from Joint Fort Lewis McCord are so loud and close that they shake the house windows.

Whatever was in the sky, seemed more like it was floating, at times looking like it was stationary, kinda like an air balloon. It glowed as if on fire, changing colors from bright yellow, to orange to red. It made no sound and had to be traveling quite fast to have the mass of half the moon, to in just a minute or two a small distant star.
