NKY red lights north to south

To the southwest of the city, looked to be about 10 miles, I saw 2 very red lights (not fireballs) following each other going almost due north to south. These were not planes. I live near 2 airports and would recognize them. No sound heard. After about 3 minutes, one began heading to the west while the trailing one continued south. After 5 minutes both had traveled out of sight.
