A star-like object moved in a straight horizontal direction and then in a circular direction, ending where it started.

I am a 50 year old, college educated woman who retired 8 years ago after having a very successful 25 year career in magazine publishing.

Standing on the front lawn of my beach house on Cuttyhunk Island, MA, I was looking at the sky as I do almost every night when we're there. Being on an island as small as Cuttyhunk, there are so few lights, we have a great view of the night sky. There was what I thought was a star but it was more sparkly than other stars. I didn't think much of it until it moved in a straight horizontal line. It didn't move very far but it very clearly moved.

It was such an unusual thing to see, I thought perhaps my eyes were playing tricks on me so I looked at other stars for about the same amount of time that I'd been looking at the first one. But nothing else moved.

I went inside and came back out with my dogs. I saw the "star"/object and then took my dogs for a short walk. When i returned to my lawn i was looking at the object again when it moved in a circular direction, counter clockwise, ending up where it had started. I couldn't see what shape it was or any details about it as it appeared to be as far away as everything else when i look up at the night sky. If someone can help me understand what this could have possibly been, I'd appreciate it. It's very unsettling to see what I saw and not have an explanation for it.

There were no other witnesses but I wish there had been. I would have liked to have had someone to talk to about it.
