Small, yellow star with red beams in W and bright, white light in SW - both disappeared soon after sighting.

I walked out onto my front porch to smoke and saw a small, bright, yellow light in the West sky above my neighbor's house. It appeared to have two small red beams of light coming out of the top. I thought it was star at first, but then as many times as I've stood there and looked up at the sky in the past, I'd never seen it before.

Also, very close to it but in the SW direction, there was a very bright white, blinking light high in the sky. I'd never seen this before either.

The sky was very clear and many 'normal' stars were visible. An hour later, I went back outside to leave for the store, and both lights were gone. Very strange.
