Sabino Canyon Tucson Arizona night UFO sighting.

At approx. 21:00 on the night of Sun. June 16th, a friend and I decided to take a night hike of one mile up the paved tram road in Sabino Canyon just on the northeastern edge of Tucson, Az. The night was totally cloudless and there was enough of a moon to illuminate the nearby mountains and distinguish the mountains from the sky above. We walked to a turn in the road to a stunning view of the canyon towards the west. As we proceeded just a few yards farther, I noticed a bright light directly on top of one of the flatter mountain mesas to the southwest. I was wondering why someone was way up in an almost inaccessible location with a flashlight at that hour of the evening.

The light proceeded to move at a walker's pace exactly on the top of the ridge line from left to right. It then began to move faster than a walker's pace but still appeared to be flashlight size and right on the ridge line. At times it would disappear and then suddenly reappear farther to the left on a consistent basis.

The next time we looked towards that location, there was an object in the sky at 1/2 mile distance away just above the ridge line but very clearly in the sky and not on the ridge itself. I could see it as more of a straight line than an object such as a saucer or anything definitive other than a faint, thin line in the sky. I would have to estimate the length of this line as approx. 60 feet with a very faint red light on its end to the left and a very bright light on its right end. It remained stationary for the rest of the event. The red light stayed consistently very faint and clearly was not blinking in any fashion. The white light however was laser precise and did not have the "cheap" star pattern glare of, say, a car headlight.

The white light pulsed in an inconsistent way and changed randomly in its sizes. This part of the event only lasted at the most half a minute. My friend and I were excited but were also talking about what we had heard about ET experiences. Many people have related that some alleged ETs are from the star system Zeta Reticula.

I was just telling my friend that and precisely when I said the words, "Zeta Reticula the light abruptly went out and in a split second made a big flash that my friend later said should have illuminated the mountain side due to its brightness. The light after this went to the relative size it had been earlier.

I don't recall how this "object" left but in the back of my mind I think it went more to the earlier flashlight sized light and then went out. This object and lights made no sound whatsoever and the canyon is a very, very quiet place. From the beginning of the event to the end the object traversed at most 200 yards of ridge line. We did not see anything else appear for the rest of our walk up and back.

I'm 63 and work in retail. My friend is in his 50's and is a professional therapist. Both of us were wearing glasses but our vision is better than 20/20. The night sky in this canyon is crystal, crystal clear.
