Red sphere like UFO 1500ft from beach shoreline

I was staring into the sky towards my left and out of no where a fiery looking object came towards us while we were sitting on the beach. I thought it could be a Chinese lantern or a meteor, but I stared closer at it and realized it was neither of the two.

It came closer to us and was about 300ft high and probably 1500ft from the shore. I could see the bottom of it which looked like a fiery plus sign and I could see a red shell like top on it. It came towards us and then it veered to the right and kept going for about a minute and then went up into the sky and disappeared.

It had a faint jet like sound but it hovered and was very fast when moving horizontally.

I pulled out my camera and took a 4 second video which I also took photos from.
