Orange light over Kitt Peak

My husband and I live about thirty miles west of Tucson. We were driving home from Tucson for the evening.

At 20:43 an orange light suddenly lit up in the sky over the Kitt Peak Observatory.

It lasted approximately forty five seconds then simply dimmed and went out.
