Large Bright Light with Red Thin Lights Shooting Out

Last night, I was with my family and friends by the swimming pool and we saw an unusually bright light. It appeared to be an extremely large star with very thin red lights shooting off the top. This red light was very thin and long and it went up and down slowly several times.

After 30 minutes, it very slowly headed towards Tempe, Az. People in our apartment complex could be seen watching the event out their Windows!!! No sound at all.
