Bright light with trailing aura moving across the sky

My partner and I saw a bright light with a trailing aura (like a wake spreading out behind a boat, only not V-shaped, but more U-shaped) slowly move across the sky.

We live near the Phoenix-Sky Harbor flight path, so we see planes coming in a lot. This looked completely different than the normal planes we see coming in at night.
