This event was recorded by the news station while videotaping the fire works at the Space Needle on New Year's Eve and was broadcast on King 5 News. I don't think the knew what they had recorded. Nothing has been said in the newspapers.

The event occurs at approximately 6.38 seconds into the video. The object appears to be hovering over the Puget Sound on the left side of the screen. It is a rather large object flashing green. It is somewhat erratic in its lateral movement, then it rapidly shoots straight up in the air. Just about that time the videographer cut away, so it was impossible to see where it went.
