I’m an astronomer and physics student, so I’ve been fairly skeptical until I started witnessing “swerving stars.” My most recently encounter was last weekend at first I figured it was just a satellite but not flashing. Same color of the stars, but moving across the sky swerving. It came closer and slowed down then started moving again quickly in the same direction it was initially going and vanished upwards.

This is a very common occurrence here, most of the time they come in groups. The locals who witness such things call them “swerving stars” Past events I’ve seen up to about 20 in one night with other people witnessing them. They also seem to be selective on who witnesses them.
