Dim moving light that increased in brightness for a short period and then moved out of sight.

Looking up thinking we saw a satellite. Watched it move for about 20 seconds then it began getting brighter and brighter for about 7-10 seconds and then started to fade. We watched it until the original dimmer light faded into the night sky.
