Appeared to be artificial light that bursted randomly out of montana sky's then tapered off as the object seemed to be falling towards

At about 4 am Thursday morning December 2020 from the west end of town where I live looking south east seen what looked to be an artificial light with a bright green tail witch at the distance the "light" took up a good portion of the sky and lasted about 4 seconds stared bright and then tapered off
