I saw a red light appear then 3 other lights slowly started to appear, equally spaced apart. It stayed for about 5 seconds then faded I was standing outside smoking a cigarette when I saw the lights appear low on the horizon. There are no mountains there. The lights appeared one at a time until a row of 4 was formed. It did not move but it just hovered there for about 5 seconds and then faded away from the left to the right. It appeared again 5 minutes after the first appearance, doing the same thing it did the first time: red lights turning on one by one until 4 were seen and then they disappeared going left to right. The third time it occurred about 5 minutes later and the red lights were in a much different part of the sky, but when the lights came on they were not moving in the sky, just stationary. I few minutes later we saw jet crafts apparently scanning the area, going back and forth. I know Luke Air Force base is out in that direction so I thought they may have seen something in the sky as well and tried to send out keys to look for it. I had a witness with me for the red lights and another witness to see the jets surveying that area shortly after the appearances.
