It looked like a swirling school of fish made out of lights

The first time was probably around 2011 or 2012 I was with my friend and he spotted it and thought it was bats or birds but they were lights, they were like a school of fish in that they were all moving but in like one morphing shape kinda. Looked pretty much like stars just lights pretty much, they were in the sky going north In a perfect line, and at a constant speed, the way it moved was weird, never seen anything like it or move like it.
Then this last year I saw the same thing off my balcony but going south and it looked closer
This time I thought maybe it was a mirrored object maybe and what I was seeing was lights reflected or being bent around and that’s why it looked like a bunch of different lights swirling around like a school of fish?
