Location details: 30 miles east of Rochester, a couple miles from Lake Ontario

Changing shape, moved like a jellyfish. Obvious red hue lit up clouds around it. Moved very quickly, changing direction often.

Observed what we thought to be a satellite at first. Object began changing direction quickly, went very fast and stopped on a dime. Could observe lights that did not seem to be blinking but could see red, blue. Took pictures, zoomed in and noticed object was a different shape in each picture. Observed object seemingly navigate in and out of the clouds/smoke. Object seemed to come closer to earth a few times, could see a jellyfish-like shape and movement. Object seemed to have a tail but only when it was moving rapidly. We often stargaze at night and have never seen anything like this before. Could observe other stars near/around the object and a planet off to the west.
